Rade Roag

I was driving down Grand River today near the Motor City Casino, and I ended up getting stopped at a red light. I'm the second car in line and I began watching car in front of me and the car next to him. The car directly in front of me had just the driver in it. The car next to him was a taxi with 3 people in the back and the driver up front. I see the guy in front of start talking to a guy in the taxi next to him. I can't hear what is being said, but the one guy starts making the hand gestures like he has some beef with the other guy. Next thing I know, the one ahole is getting out of the back of the taxi wanting to start something with the guy in the car in front of me. Which is then my cue to drive around said car and turn immediately.

Like seriously, WTF? I have never seen that. I've never seen a guy THAT WASN'T DRIVING, or even paying attention for that matter, pick a fight with some other guy. I can understand road rage. I live it, maybe daily. But I will say that it's a whole lot easier to keep things in perspective when there are other people in the car. People to remind you that maybe you're over reacting. Maybe you are actually the ahole. So there you are, finding yourself with 3 other people in a car that you aren't driving, and you find the need to pick a fight. I just don't get it.

I drive with intention. I hate cars. I hate being inside them. I don't fit. I can't move or stretch. I prefer to get from point A to point B in the least amount of time, in the shortest route. Holding this point of view often leads me to the point that I can't stand the lollygaggers that are driving all around me. Not paying attention, on a cell phone (pet peave), disregarding other traffic,... I am a 100% undivided attention driver. Not everyone else is. This scenario generally leaves me feeling like I want to revoke the licenses of those people not paying attention, and/or beat them down. Fortunately, I realize that doing that would not give me the desired outcome that I am looking for and also it is illegal/immoral/wrong.

It just leaves me thinking "are you really going to get out of your car and pick a fight, really?" especially when you aren't the one driving? come on meow.
